How NOT to catch a King Salmon on Lake Michigan single handed
Переглядів 5282 роки тому
In fairness, I was single handing the boat with no activity on the rods. I was reaching into the center console to grab a new flasher/fly combo. It made a huge run forward while the boat motor was turned off (it crossed over the other downrigger line) and not trolling forward. This 18lb King Salmon got caught under the motor, a downriggers , and the leadcore line that was deployed. The condition...

This was a great trip with my wife. It was her first time fishing! She was awesome. Best lines were: I don't want to reel it in (she said that because she didn't want to lose it), It's bigger than me, and I want to be like Blain (pointing at the fish the same way Blain did as a toddler in a photo that we had taken). We finished the day with 5 (including this 7 pound coho and a 15 pound rainbow)

Great video please make more your wonderful God bless
Not sure if this made me want to do this or not. Pretty tight in spots! 😊
stay calm and Jeep
We did Black Bear in 2022 on July 14th in my 2015 JK, and it was a blast! I enjoyed your video, and it brought back memories that makes me want to do it again soon!!
Looks nice and warm as well!
Boy I would hate to have to Shovel that Driveway hahaha Cool Video !
More cowbell!
My camera has an edit button
Back in 2014 (9 yrs ago), what type of camera did you use? We're doing it 01 Aug 23 using GoPro. Thanks :) ps. at this point it is not open.
Garmin Virb and GoPros (Virb's were much better)
How did your JK Unlimited gain 1,900lbs over a factory rubicon unlimited? Your skid plates made out of 3/4” AR500? Lol
Dana 80 axles, 4speed Atlas, Skid Plates, 40" tires on forged wheels (x5), winch, roll cage, bypass shocks, and coilover shocks, hydraulic steering ram and pump, heavy duty trackbars. Lol, you're an idiot.
does anyone film past the power station🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Are you using this for catering or just home? Trying to figure out if this is a viable option for catering for my roasting business, thanks!
Just at home. But it could very easily scale up in size for catering.
Sick climb. Rear steering really helped to force the rear tires to climb that first ledge. I want a ride
Wonderful video and narrative. I am scared to drive such roads - so enjoying video like yours. I hear these roads need more maintenance and also hear it should be left bit wild for enthusiasts!
Incredible video! Thank you. This trip appears every bit worth the level of focus and preparation needed for a safe and successful experience. Seems a trip to challenge the soul
I wish I never had to see snow
Cool video
What time of year is this?
July
Nobody did it on a stopwatch. Event
Loved the video!! Iv Been on a Black Bear Pass Kick watching as many as I can and yours was one of my favorites!! Love the Rig!
Thanks for the kind comments.
Don't worry about the editing.... On a cold February in Wisconsin I will come back to this video. Thanks for posting.
Look at all these professional keyboard warriors trying to tell you what to do with shit you paid for 😂 90% of these fuckers below don't know dick about off road, they just spit out random shit they hear but don't know cause they think people will think they're smart, there's even people bitching about tire pressure, its like no shit the tire pressure's low why the fuck do you think we run beadlocks for
Good video. I enjoyed watching it. Helped me to relive my trip down Black Bear just 2 days ago.
Nice job on the video and commentary. Me and my wife will be visiting Black Bear Pass next year along with 5-6 other Badge of Honor trails in Colorado and Arizona.
Easter Sheep Safari
@@JeepPeep007 What?! Why?! I wasn't trying to insult you or EJS. I was making a reference to the ACTUAL SHEEP at 21:00, not some political statement. I should have been clearer, I guess. Anyway, this was a great video and will still be super helpful to me when I attempt this trail.
@@adamgreenhaus4691 I owe you a BIG apology! I deleted my comment, again sorry, I get the humor now.
There is soooo much NO in this video! Some amazing sights but still no, hard pass!
What do you mean?
@@dlmp70 sorry, I'm afraid of heights so this is a place I will never go, on purpose.
So many experts in the comments 🤣🤣🤣
lol, as always is the case
EASY!!
Great video!
Once you reach the summit are you able to go back down the way you came? I'll be there in August but my sister already said she ain't doing Black Bear Pass. The front section looks very pretty and easily doable so I'd like to at least do the front side.
The front side you can turn back on.
Plot twist: how to destroy your joints
Ummm, no.
1:07:00 Something is wrong with the audio, all I am hearing is "nope nope nope nope nope nope"
Great video. Excellent narration and no electro-pulse music thankfully. That said, I’ve now experienced this pass through your video and find myself in a fetal position with my gin and tonic with blood pressure to match. I’ll leave trails like this to the more adventuresome. I’ll keep my 4Runner on much easier ones. But thanks for the stroke! (Great job!)
You bet! A little elevated respiration and pulse is a good thing. I'm glad that you enjoyed it!
Really enjoy your videos. They’re both inspirational and a healthy deterrent. Both are needed. The good news is one of my ballsticles has finally reappeared! (Still can’t find the other one.) 😵💫
That was a fun little trip! Brings back so many memories. We had a cabin on Mt. Lemmon Az. And for the earlier times we use to have to go up the road on the back side which totally appears like where you were driving! My dad and Grandpa always drove up when there is no way for a truck to pass for miles so they had a schedule where for 2 hours you can go one way ..up from 8 am to 10 am then people can drive down from10am to 12 noon and so on for years it was that way! Anyway, fun! Great video. CH
we also ran into hail storm continental divide
enjoyed your video .
scenery.in Colorado is awesome . took road up to top of piles peak .driving took 2 hrs .was worth it. saw a Margot on road . also took train Silverton n Durango up through mountains .
like song .
would like to take.keep tour to ghost towns . have also been to Rocky mountain zoo .have seen Denver art museum .
It's gorgeous and looks so fun!!!
Great job, thanks
How about a 2008 Avalanche and a 1997 suburban?
I loved it! Thank you.
I would love to do Black Bear Pass. Really freaked me out with spatial disorientation the first time I watched it. Great video
Sounds like Lightning Hopkins playin some blues
I wanna go drive Black Bear Pass but “The Steps” look very intimidating for sure lol.
Amazing 😎
Very well done video. Thank you ! I am planning a group trip out & this will help sell it to everyone.
Finally something factual (and almost just as important: no pathetic music!)! Planning a trip (Colorado, Utah and beyond) from Europe this was most helpful, thank you!
Being a newbie, how do you keep from riding your brakes? 4L and Hill decent turned on? Does that keep your jeep from going too fast downhill?
Your in low so it is geared so you don't have to ride your brakes. Hill decent mode is only offered on the newest of vehicles and it uses brakes.
Shift into first gear and idle the engine
Why is there so many roll-overs just before you get to the Steps? Seems like plenty of room to manuver and not steep.
There are a couple areas where it is off camber and it drops your front wheel at the same time. If you aren't able to read the terrain a rollover can happen.
